These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Handmade Resume("we", "us", "our") governing your use of Handmade Resume and everything we provide through handmaderesume.com (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, for keeping your credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
What the Service does
The Service helps you turn your approved career record and a job description into ATS-friendly, format-checked resumes and cover letters, and checks generated claims against the facts you have approved. It is a drafting and formatting tool. It does not guarantee ATS rankings, interviews, employment, acceptance by any particular employer system, or any other outcome, and it is not a substitute for professional career, legal, or financial advice.
Your content and responsibilities
You keep ownership of the career information you provide and the documents you create ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, and transmit Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you. You are responsible for reviewing every document before you submit it to an employer, and you represent that:
- the information you supply is accurate and truthful, and you have the right to use and share it;
- you will not upload another person's information without authority to do so; and
- your use of the Service and Your Content complies with applicable law and does not infringe anyone's rights.
Automated output
Documents are produced with automated language processing. The Service checks formatting and flags generated claims that do not match your approved record, but it does not independently verify the truth of the underlying facts you provide, and automated output may contain errors or omissions. You are solely responsible for reviewing, correcting, and approving any document before you rely on or submit it.
Unlimited means one person’s own job search
Where a plan describes unlimited resumes, cover letters, drafts, revisions, edits, or downloads, that is unlimited use by you, for your own job search. There is no hidden document cap behind the word: we do not meter your documents, and we do not quietly reduce quality as you use more. What that access is not is a licence to run a service on top of ours. Specifically, you agree not to:
- share one account between people, or let anyone else generate documents from it;
- use the Service to produce documents for other people as an agency, resume-writing business, school, bootcamp, recruiter, or reseller, whether paid or unpaid;
- drive the Service with bots, scripts, browser automation, or scraping, or use it through anything other than the interface we provide;
- generate in bulk on behalf of a list of candidates, or resell access, output, or capacity; or
- work around our rate limits, concurrency controls, account verification, or abuse protections.
Heavy legitimate use by one person searching for work is not a breach of this section and we will not treat it as one. What we act on is automation, sharing, and resale. Where our protections slow a request down, they say so as themselves (a rate limit, a queue, or a provider being unavailable) and never as a plan limit you have hit.
Live job search is not available in this release. You bring the job description you want to apply to. If live search becomes available, its separate allowance will be shown before use; it will not limit document generation, editing, downloads, or application tracking.
You submit your own applications. The Service will never submit an application, complete an employer’s form, answer screening questions, email an employer, or represent itself as you. It prepares documents and helps you track what you sent; the sending is yours.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, deceptive, or fraudulent, including misrepresenting your qualifications;
- upload malware or files that violate our upload restrictions, or attempt to bypass those restrictions;
- probe, scrape, overload, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure; or
- resell or provide the Service to third parties except as expressly permitted.
Plans, payments, and refunds
Paid features are described at checkout, and payments are handled by our payments provider. Allowances, subscription terms, renewal, expiry, and refund handling follow the offer shown at the time of purchase. Manual edits, template switching, and re-downloads of documents you have already generated never draw on any allowance. Prices may change prospectively; changes do not affect a purchase already made. Where a plan is retired, access already purchased continues on the terms it was bought under.
Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, templates, and content we provide, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer any of our rights to you beyond the limited right to use the Service. Your Content remains yours.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will produce any particular result. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost opportunities, or lost employment, arising out of or relating to the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 100.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and reasonable expenses arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms or of applicable law.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or its users. On termination, the sections that by their nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will continue to apply. Account deletion is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may change or discontinue features, and we may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are material, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at Handmade Resume's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts located there will have jurisdiction over any dispute, except where mandatory local law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
